“The location is superb, being conveniently located next to the train station, which makes it incredibly easy to reach Zermatt (train every 15 minutes until midnight).
It's best to pick the modern superior rooms in the newer section of the Chatel.
I was very pleased with my room, which was spacious, clean, and fully equipped with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. With trains running nearby, you will have an exceptional view of the mountains and waterbody passing through.
You can go for a walk in the opposite direction near the camping area in the early morning and enjoy the tranquility.
The supershops coop, avec and Migros are nearby.”
“The room was very spacious, clean and modern. We had a little balcony that gave us views towards the Zermatt. The location is perfect and I'd recommend to anyone who has hired a car. You can't any further than Tasch as they have a car ban in Zermatt so we decided to stay here where we could park our car at the hotel. The train station is directly opposite which takes you to Zermatt and runs very frequently and late at night and early in the morning.
We didn't have the breakfast but the restaurant looked nice.”
“This little gem is a perfect place to spend time in Zermatt! We arrived, like most people, by train. Although electric taxis are advertised and easy to find, we decided not needed and walked. In fact, our entire time in Zermatt was on foot other than the famous cogwheel train up to the Matterhorn. Walking to this hotel, even with our carry on suitcases, was easy. The hosts were fantastic. Loved our room. I was turning 70 and had requested balcony with a view of the Matterhorn. Amazing room and view-LOVED IT! Breakfast was phenomenal and staff fantastic. We had an issue with our TV initially (one of the plugs had dislodged)-fixed promptly! Then we blew one of the electrical outlets-Pierre (Peter?) was there again quickly. Loved his sense of humor. So, there is absolutely nothing we have to complain about!! Highly recommend this hotel.”
“Great room and free upgrade when booked online. Close to the mountains and can feel the fresh air.
Free tea and cake everyday at 5-6pm, not seen that from any hotel, good service.
Helpful staff.”
“During our recent stay at Petit, we found the location less than ideal due to ongoing construction next door. The construction work produced a strong oil smell that was quite uncomfortable. While the room and bathroom were as small as expected, they were adequately clean. The most significant issue was the lack of fresh air, which may improve once the construction is completed.
On a positive note, the breakfast offered was good and the dining area was clean. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and I appreciated their initiative to offer drink vouchers as an incentive for skipping room cleaning.
Overall, despite some environmental drawbacks, we had a pleasant stay. Sometimes, the key to enjoying a holiday is to adapt and appreciate what is available. We look forward to potentially better conditions after the construction work is finished.”
