The ryokan has parking on-site, a hot spring bath and full-day security. the staff is great and the service is exceptional. exceeded all of our expectations.

Offering a shared lounge and quiet street view, Toraya is set in Gero, 48 km from Takayama Station and 49 km from Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village. The 3-star ryokan features mountain views and is 700 metres from Gero Station. The ryokan offers rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. 10 min form the train station, located at the river, and close to main shops. Short walk uphill to the Ghasso Village. Very accommodating English speaking staff. We tried the private onsen for 4000 Yen and it was fabulous! Very clean, big rooms with nice energy.

The nearest airport is Nagoya Airport, 70 km from the ryokan. This accommodation is 400 years old and managed by the 15th generation now. The history is very special. Even the formal emperor staid at this accommodation. You can really experience the authentic Japanese life. Food was delicious, the best food we had in Japan untill now. We hear that the chef build his cooking skills at a Michelin star restaurant and that is what you see and taste at the food. When we arrived we were (as both having back problems) worried about the traditions futon beds, but this was no problem at all! Nice to do from here is the Nakasendo walk from Magome to Tsumago. The hotel helped us with a useful map and arrange a transfer for us to the starting point.

The nearest airport is Komatsu Airport, 47 km from the property. There are no words to describe our experience in Shiroyamakan. Everything was exceptional, the installations, the personnel, the atmosphere, the location, simply, there are no words. The food is another part of the history. Yes, can be weird that the dinner is at 6 pm, but it has an explanation that you must experience by yourself. It was the most beautiful and memorable experience in our traveling life. Arigatou so much to the family, you made us feel in your home.

Rooms with contemporary Japanese design are fitted with tatami (woven-straw) flooring and come with a private open-air bath. Also comes with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and a seating area with low table. One of the best places I've ever stayed. Look forward to coming back some day and making it longer than just 1 night.

Founded in 1860, Juhachiro is located along Nagara River and boasts indoor and outdoor natural hot spring baths. The property is a 15-minute bus ride from Gifu Train Station. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property, and free private parking is available on site. It was overall a wonderful weekend and a wonderful stay and experience in your super clean hotel. The Onsen were amazing and your rooms even made us stay the whole afternoon inside because we just felt like home. Thank you! Our stay was exceptionally great!

Free WiFi is available in all rooms and lobby area. Everything! My husband and I can’t thank the team of Wanosato enough. It was such an amazing experience and they were so kind, gentle and thoughtful. One of the highlights - if not THE highlight - of our trip.

The hotel is closed to the river and the temple, very clean, very friendly staff and helpful. 2. The service is superb as well as the free shuttle bus from train station and hotel. 3. The food is good and delicious.

Free WiFi is available at the lobby and guestrooms. This hotel was selected as one of the Top 25 B&Bs and Inns in Japan by TripAdvisor's Travelers' Choice Award 2015. We loved our stay here. I cannot recommend this Ryokan enough - if you get the chance I promise you the price is so so worth it. The staff are so friendly, the food is AMAZING, the beds are comfortable, the onsen itself is so lovely and relaxing. This is just a wonderful cozy place to stay in Japan.
