Enjoy a stay on our Cornish smallholding. Cornish Skies is a small family run off grid site with eco friendly composting toilets and gas showers. Located just outside the village and on the edge of Troon Moor we enjoy a variety of wildlife and the most amazing sunsets. We have two camping fields where our 4 spacious bell tents are set up ready for your stay. Our tents are matted, furnished and enjoy views over fields of animals. Each tent has a comfy double bed and 2 singles. Bed 5 is an airbed suitable for a child . We provide beding and towels for use on site - remember to bring beach towels. Each tent has it's own picnic table, single burner camp stove with kettle, mugs, cutlery, plates, bowls & cool box. Solar lights in the tents please bring a torch for venturing outside at night. Close to each tent is is own private eco composting toilet. Outside is a fire pit and fire wood can be purchased on site. Don't forget to bring a blanket to use outside for chilly evenings. We have a communal food prep and cooking shelter with washing up sinks, in field 1 and an undercover seating area with 2 gas BBQ's in field 2. Lots of pots, pans and extra crockery is also available. There is also a small pizza oven to use with the BBQ great for pizzas. or use the raised platform outside your tent for a disposable bbq. There is parking for one car / tent, we have 2 parking areas and the one you use will depend upon which tent you are staying in. No cars are allowed on camping field - wheelbarrow transport provided. Note: shallow stream on site A list of the equipment you will have in your tent can be supplied by request. We are sorry but we do not accept dogs due to proximity of our livestock.
We look forward to welcoming you to our 'little piece of heaven in Cornwall'. We moved here about 5 years ago, we enjoy meeting our guests and sharing what we love so much about the area. Our smallholding is home to our small flock of sheep a few chickens & colourful bantams. Plus of course our steadily increasing family of Devon Rex cats. We are passionate about growing our own vegetables and would love to be self sufficient one day! Before moving we enjoyed many camping holidays with our large frame tent but the idea of arriving with our children and having a tent up and furnished with beds etc really appealed. Our intention is not only to make your camping experience a more comfortable one but to allow you to experience the fun of a little bit of 'wild camping'. To enjoy the sunsets, the night sky and the bird song around the camp fire. Our Glamping is open during the school summer holidays only, however we do have on -site accomodation open from Easter - October which does allow pets. We look forward to seeing you soon. Great central location for exploring Cornwall, just off the A30. We are located approximately 400yds along a single track road. A short walk to the bus stop and village shops but enjoy peace & quiet and views of courtryside with some amazing sunsets. 2 miles from Camborne Rail station (London - Penzance line) There are a selection of takeways, restaurants and supermarkets within 2 miles in Camborne and Pool Fish & chip shops in next village. We are located on edge of Unesco Heritage site in the heart of 'tin mining country', beautiful contryside, atmospheric Heritage Mining trail walks and cycle ways and with Portreath and Gwithian beaches only 6 miles away. Explore the beautiful coast of West Cornwall :- Portreath Beach 6 miles, Helston 8 miles, Falmouth 12 miles, St Ives 14 miles, Gwithian 6 miles and Perranporth 14 miles For the children (young & old) Flambards is only 8 miles away. Stithians Lake and watersport centre within 5 miles so why not try paddleboarding or sailing. The cathederal city of Truro is 15 miles away with great shopping and a miriad of independant shops. Great central location to the Lizard, Lands End and easy access to the A30 making The Eden Project and Heligan an easy day trip.
