“The location was excellent as it is situated very close to the main Nara attractions and park and also the restaurants in the old town. We booked a large room that would cater for more than a couple so we were very happy with the room size. The condition and cleanliness of the room, also, very good. Style modern and minimalist and a hint of Japanese traditional flavour. The staff were helpful and friendly and provided assistance as requested. The breakfast was a set breakfast in either western or Japanese versions and was well presented and sufficient. But sometimes a buffet can be fun to be able to mix things up. However I think the set breakfast was in keeping with the hotel's overall policy of minimal waste which I appreciate. Finally, the location is on a no through road next to some parkland with deer. Consequently very quiet.”
“I stayed in the old bulding and had the pleasure to listen to waterfall and frog sounds from the nearby river all night. Very soothing.
The place has a great retro atmosphere, clean and nice onsen and great food.
On top of that, when I inquired about public buses to Koyasan from near villages, I was told by the receptionist he will take me there the next morning via car. Free of charge. What a service!”
“A very nice and chilling experience. We liked our traditional style room very much. Although there was no shower in the room, it had a private toilet and wash basin. It was actually more spacious than regular Japanese hotel rooms and it was very clean. The private onsen was amazing, the best of the experience after a long walk, do not miss your privage time slot. The hotel staff was very helpful and we had a great chilling time in Nara, thanks to this ryokan.”
“It's like a magical cottage in the forest! It was so lovely and quiet, the food was delicious and they were so nice about me being vegetarian. They did lots of nice little touches too, like including snacks and even a face warmer! The baths were looooovely.”
“The location was perfect next to Nara station. Walking distance to Nara park. Bus stop with all buses stopping at Nara station. Lots of restaurants near buy. Big super market to take food with you to Nara park for a picnic. Washing machine on the second floor.”
