    “The staff were excellent throughout, fast replies throughout the whole stay. Air conditioning was good which was a life saver in the heatwave. It's a good base for day trips and there's a big Walmart nearby to stock up on water. The smart TV was very useful as well. Overall it felt secure and the checkin and checkout was easy and straightforward.”

    “I went to Tulum for my friends 30th birthday and we stayed at Copal and had the best time! Firstly the hotel is beautiful! It feels like you’re in a tropical jungle with trees and plants throughout the hotel. Our apartment was lovely – we had a three bedroom apartment with a rooftop pool. The apartment was nicely decorated, it was airy and very spacious. There are two restaurants on site and both of them are great! The main pool is in the centre of the hotel; surrounded by trees and it’s so peaceful. What we also really liked is that there are so many extra things offered by the hotel including morning yoga, bikes for rent, massages etc which added such a nice touch to our stay. However the best thing about Copal is definitely the service! From the front desk, to the restaurant, to maintenance - everyone made sure we had a great experience during our stay. Special shoutout to Johnny and Samir who always went above and beyond for us! Highly recommend staying here!”

    “This was a very nice room that breathed vacation. Nicely decorated, and yes the pretty pictures you see also apply to the smallest room. Friendly staff, free drinkable water. Good value for money, would definately return.”

    “I will start with the positives, then conclude with the overwhelming negative and the reason for the 1/10 review. The location is excellent, with direct access to the lagoon. The grounds are a great place to relax and spend the day. 10/10. The accommodation itself is dated and not as clean as it should be. When we arrived, we could see it hadn’t had a proper deep clean for a while. The kitchen cleaning equipment included a used sponge and dirty cloth (fresh ones would have been nice). The kitchen utensils were old and rusted. The air con is not fit for purpose – it struggles to cool the hut and is nothing more than a glorified fan. The water pressure in the sinks and shower is very low and quite cold, making cleaning and showering difficult. Finally, the Wi-Fi wasn’t strong enough to reach the hut. With all that said, it was comfortable and nicely decorated, so we’d give it 6/10.”

    “I appreciated that each individual room was arranged like a studio, with easy access to a mini fridge for storage of snacks and beverages. The Family Suite with two bedrooms was amazing-- and the sofa was incredibly comfortable-- perfect for relaxing after a long day of excursions. The AC units all worked perfectly. The showers worked well with good pressure. The housekeepers are attentive and the reception desk as well, including offering water to refill our water bottles. It's just a short 40 peso ride from the town plaza and that's much better than the uphill walk! My family really enjoyed gathering in the pool to relax after dinner in town.”
