Spacious, reasonably priced junior suite, including spacious bathroom with both bath and separate shower. Fascinating prior history of hotel. Ample free on-site parking. Very good food from accomplished head chef. Morning newspapers can be ordered on request. Whilst not in a seafront location or with great views, there is a frequent 'Loop' bus service outside the door direct to centre of Broadstairs, Margate and Ramsgate - no need to risk taking the car into congested central areas with limited and often expensive parking!

A very well-finished and comfortable cottage with good facilities. Both bedrooms were large and the bathroom was well-appointed. Wi-fi and hot water worked as they should and the location was convenient for the forest.

The turn in off the road is a little tight and easy to miss in the dark (just an FYI for travellers; not a complaint about the property). Being picky, perhaps the surrounds (garden, driveway etc) could do with a bit of a spruce, and the outside light didn't work.

Unfortunately, the hotel has really gone down since our last stay. The bedroom was very dirty, tatty and stained. Communal rooms were the same. The bed was rock hard, the linen and towels frayed. Please give guests teaspoons instead of wooden sticks to make hot beverages, both in the room and buffet. It is wasteful! The breakfast was mediocre, and again, the quality of the products very poor. The attention to detail that was once there is gone. Check-in was very slow. We also had housekeeping knocking on our door asking if we were leaving before the checkout time. Such a shame as when this hotel first opened and in its infancy, it was fantastic.

This place with Self Check-in etc is really too impersonal. The rooms seem a little tired and does not feel welcoming at all.
