  • DKaYa Hostel Review score: 10

“The hostel is small, clean and quiet. It has a well equiped kitchen and spacious rooms with a balcony. In general they already thought about every little thing that a guest may need. However the best part is Gift, the owner, she is a really nice person who loves receiving guests. She helped us out like a five star resort concierge and even gave us a ride! It was one of the best hostel experiences I ever had!”

  • “Thai architectural cultural buildings. Good swimming pool with plenty of loungers. Good location in Nang Tong with beach access. Friendly staff, excellent housekeeping…enjoyed chatting (in Thai) with Khun Orn. 😃👍”

  • Khaolak Merlin Resort Review score: 10

“Loved this hotel set in spacious tropical grounds with lots of walkways, waterways, trees, plants and wildlife. The hotel is focused on preserving the rainforest and wildlife as well as being as eco as possible. For example cleaning the waste water and using it for irrigation and the wildlife waterways. We stayed in a Deluxe natural room which was huge with an enormous bed, plenty of storage, good lighting and large balcony which overlooked a waterway and extensive planting. The bathroom was lovely with a sunken bath and separate shower. We prefer first floor since it's usually more private but some of the ground floor rooms have direct access to water for swimming. There is a library with loads of books in all languages. Breakfast was great with a huge choice of dishes to suit all nationalities. We enjoyed the New Year buffet, it really was outstanding. Other than that we took a stroll to the village, minutes away, to try out the little restaurants; all were excellent and welcoming. The beach is kept immaculate with plenty of sunloungers scattered around on the lawns. The sea was very warm with the odd jelly fish which sting but are not deadly! There are also a number of swimming pools, we found one near the modern rooms which was barely used. It is a large site with plenty of walkways but if you cannot walk easily you would need to check on distance to the restaurant/beach/nearest pool. It's a bit over an hours drive from Phuket airport, we used "Smile" taxi service; very efficient, on time and reasonably priced, would recommend them.”
