  • “Fantastic value for money. We went for this place as the cheapest option available but you really can't beat it. On arrival, I started to wonder whether I'd misread the positioning of the decimal point in the bill! Free, ample parking.Clean, well-maintained rooms and communal areas. Great size bed in executive suite which meant twin beds not required. Clean, modern bathroom. Nice small lounge and bar area to use if outside not an option. Grounds were beautiful to relax in of an evening, views across county with the chalk white horse visible in the distance. We loved watching the rabbits darting about in the next field! Fantastic owl hooting in the night, to add to the rural experience! Very quiet location, easy to find. Walkable into Bradford on Avon although a steep hill on the return! Great breakfast available to set you up for the day. If it weren't so far away from where I am in Wirral, I'd definitely come back to stay again.”

  • Best Western Red Lion Hotel Review score: 8

“Location perfect for my needs . However some confusion on booking re parking availability which was resolved . Room noisey as fronted on Brown Street . I would have preferred another room”

  • “The hotel was just off the main road but was tucked away and really quiet. Beautiful setting. Loved the collection of quirky items and artwork. The sitting rooms were lovely and our bedroom no. 131 was spacious and the bed comfortable. Just what we needed after a long day at the Horse Trials. The staff were friendly and helpful. We loved the restaurant room where we had breakfast. Enjoyed poached eggs on sourdough bread with avocado and granola with berries and yoghurt.”
