Try East Sussex for your next trip! Enjoy seaside, restaurants and relaxation while you’re there.
If shopping, restaurants and seaside are for you, don’t miss out on Brighton & Hove!
A new addition, the Brighton Wheel is right by the pier, while one of its most famous attractions is the Royal Pavilion, a former royal retreat built in Indian style. Just west are 2 of the most popular Brighton shopping spots – Churchill Square shopping centre and The Lanes with its narrow streets and unusual shops. This area also has several Brighton hotels with parking, and the Artists Quarter, a series of ex-fishing huts that are now galleries. The arts are a big thing here and Brighton Festival is the UK’s 2nd largest arts festival, while Brighton Pride is also a big event on the annual calendar.

Situated on the seafront, The Strand Hotel is just 10 minutes’ walk from the Victorian Eastbourne Pier, The Royal Hippodrome Theatre and the city centre.
“I visited Eastbourne, UK, on holiday from Canada as my first stop in a European and Middle Eastern trip. I am a male, single traveler. I took a basic room with a private bathroom at The Strand Hotel for 3 nights. I wanted a Seafront Hotel on the English Channel but I didn't want to spend a massive amount of money and I got a good price upon booking The Strand Hotel. I have nothing but good things to say about the property and the people who operated it! The location of the hotel is utterly fantastic. It's at the Eastern End of the Seafront in Eastbourne. If you want a Seafront Hotel at a decent price, this hotel is a fantastic option. When I arrived in Eastbourne I walked to the hotel from the railway station in the city centre and I'd say the walk took 10 or so minutes give or take. Railway station, city centre, and all main sights (Pier, Promenade, Fortress) are all within a reasonable walk. The hotel has an attached bar with reasonably priced drinks and a very nice seafront terrace area outside. My room was basic, but relative to the amount I paid I'd say I received excellent value for my payment. My room was spotless clean and very comfortable. I had to ask the hotel staff for an iron throughout my stay and they were very happy to accommodate me. Overall it was a great hotel and I'm very happy with my experience there.”
