  • Sigiriya Rastha Hostel Review score: 10

“Very nice and peaceful place. Kosta has a big garden and the hostel is in the forest. Notice that you cant go outsode at night by foot because of the dangerous wild elephant. But Kosta wants to bring you everywhere on the bike, also in daytime which is great. Or you can ask a tuktukdriver. The hostel isn't too big so it has a good vibe. Nice breakfast!”

“Staff was super friendly and helpful with everything, including transportation arrangement and tourism information. Room was spacious. Beds are comfortable. Aircon is powerful. Shower was fully functional, even with socket for razors! There is a swimming pool in the hotel, which is always a big plus. Breakfast was pretty nice too.”

  • Freedom Village Review score: 9

“Beautiful setting felt like you were in the country. Lovely helpful friendly owners. Helped us to get the bus to Kandy the next day. Lovely pool area.”

  • “All of the staff were lovely, super friendly and helpful. The rooms were a nice size, and the bathroom as well. The hotel grounds and the pool was nice and big, always kept quite clean although very, very chlorinated. It was walking distance to the golden Buddha and the cave temples. Breakfast was nice, the rest of food was hit and miss.”

  • “I had such a great stay at Another World Hostel. I'm a 38 year young solo female traveller from Australia. I stayed in a private room. I had only booked 2 nights and extended it to 3 as there's so much to do/see but also to relax after so much to do in the afternoons. The team (staff) treated me as a friend and family in such a short time. The accomdation and communal space were very clean and lots of love into the whole hostel. The food was delicious. They went above and beyond with their kindness. Helped organise tours and transport. I had wonderfil long chats with the staff/friends. I can honestly say I've never been treated so kindly in a hostel before. I'm so grateful for my time in Sigiriya and the staff at the hostel. Great location central to everything in town, including Lion Rock. Amazing value for money. Chilled vibes, make it your own little paradise in the middle of this beautiful country. I unfortunately didn't make it up to the top of Lion Rock, so great excuse to return to this hostel to see my new friends next year when I come back to Sri Lanka. Highly recommended this place. The people are the icing on the cake, truly. Thanks, my Malli's (brothers) and my Sri Lankan new mum, hehe.”
