“The room is very spacious and clean. There is a good area outside with a table and chairs to relax. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They offered me many things for free such as snacks, tea and coffee. The owner arranged a guide to take me around the ancient city. The guide was brilliant too.”
“The hotel is run down, the swimming pool was dirty and not suitable for swimming. The rooms were basic, with bathroom with hot water. The bed was comfortable.
The internet was basically nonexistent, but the receptionist (Roshan?) was kind enough to allow us to use her personal hotspot in the reception area, therefore no Internet in the room.
The dinner and breakfast was great 👍🏼
The property has a lot of potential and hopefully the new owners will bring the property to a state that it deserves. If so this hotel would be a great place to stay. If you are lucky you might see an elephant in the area behind of the hotel, just a stone throw away.
Overall, a good stay but has lots of potential. I would only recommend this hotel for a short stay in its current state! The receptionist/manager and the helper are friendly and flexible people!”
“We loved the pool and the garden! Perfect for relaxing after exploring the ancient city in the heat. The owner and his son who managed the hotel were incredibly friendly and kind. They went out of their way to ensure that I had a fantastic breakfast that catered to my dietary needs (gluten free). Tishan is situated about 15 min away (by car) from the ancient ruins and the town of Polonnaruwa itself.”
“I really enjoyed staying at Ekho Lake House, room was lush so as sunset, attentive staff and great food. I only stayed there one night and had an early morning check-out, they’ve prepped me the most amazing takeaway food.”
“The hotel setting was amazing. With a lot of spaces to sit and relax and wonderful view to the lake.
The outdoor shower was a very nice and modern feature. Bed was comfortable
The pool was lovely and it was always attended by the poolman guarding us from the monkeys”
