“We stayed at this hotel and we so much enjoyed staying there. When you step inside the hotel you are welcomed by very polite and kind staff and a pleasant smell of jasmine. People at the reception desk are very friendly. We were given a spacious family suite with two toilets and a bathtub plus a shower. A large living room and balcony was there as well. The room had a pleasant smell and a huge balcony with pool view. We would like to thank Mr. Cherif for being so friendly and kind. Unfortunately, we had a bad luck and our son had to stay in the hospital for a few days. Mr. Cherif brought him sandwiches, flowers, and juices. He asked how he was doing and when my son came back to the hotel he helped us by arranging trips to Marrakech and Atlas Mountains. He always had a smile on his face. Breakfast was incredible. A huge variety of foods and a pleasant dining room. We visited the Moroccan restaurant and enjoyed it very much with its traditional Moroccan dishes and live music. We will definitely come back and stay in this hotel again!”

The breakfast or diner on the terrace on the sofas was so relaxing, with the light wind. You have to try the Alhambra bath next door! There is also a very extensive collection of art and historical items scattered throughout the rooms of the hotel- well worth getting lost in! The breakfast is very extensive with eggs, fruit, cakes and lots of bread & croissants and freshly squeezed orange juice. The food in Palais M restaurant onsite was very good also although a bit on the expensive side particularly for a bottle of wine. There is entertainment most nights in the restaurant which itself is a work of art reminiscent of the Great Gatsby in its design! The pool in the hotel grounds is huge and a lovely place to relax for the day. What we loved most about Palais Mehdi was the relaxed atmosphere and the fantastic staff - from the gardeners to the waiters to the management- a brilliant team! A huge thanks to Sofia whose lovely friendly manner really made our stay special - we felt like we knew her for years! She's a credit to Palais Mehdi. We'll be back!! :-)”

“The staff were wonderful. Always had a smile and nothing was ever to difficult. The property its self is spread over two Riad accessible to one another by the side by side front doors and the roof top terraces. Beautiful decor and 3 pools! Lovely freshly prepared breakfast served at a leisurely hour as the staff say "you're on holiday". Our room was impeccably cleaned and tidied each day. Traveling during Ramadan was a concern however we found it really had no impact on us at all. Obviously everywhere was a little quieter than normal, but we liked that. Still a great vibe around town at all hours of the day and of course at night after breakfast it became really alive. If the lack of alcohol is of concern, don't worry, almost all more western restaurants cater for international crowds and still serve alcohol. Would recommend travelling during this time to anyone. locals have more time and space to hassle and be a little pushy but, thanks to a few tips from staff we learnt valuable tricks on never being pressured to buy and haggling which is where a lot of tourists can go wrong. Bargains galore!! Marrakech is a goldmine for artisan goods with beautiful people and a rich history and culture.”

“Prior to our stay we were in contact with Melanie who arranged a taxi transfer from the airport for us AND arranged our transfer the next day to Essaouira. We were greeted on the evening of our stay by Hassan who made us a lovely mint tea and served up biscuits. Our room was covered in rose petals (such a surprise!) and was clean & comfortable. It was also quiet at night despite being just off the hustle & bustle of Marrakech! The breakfast in the morning was delicious with freshly squeezed orange juice, Moroccan pancakes, yoghurt, fruit, bread etc and all on a beautiful roof terrace. Melanie took us through a map of Marrakech and suggested a few things we could do in the 5 hours we had there. We left our luggage in the hostel whilst we explored Marrakech and were presented with another mint tea before our departure! Wonferful riad, great location, superb staff and an all round great stay!”

What makes this riad so special is the staff, everyone was friendly and helpful and they made us feel really welcome. Will definitely return and would highly recommend it.”

Once here a little while the seemingly labyrinth like lanes make full sense as does the architecture of the whole place keeping residents in the shadows during the hottest weather. So many sights sounds and smells through the whole area. Fascinating Museums, Souks and shops a holiday or short break to remember.”
