Located up the hill, this hotel is good to the get away from the city hustle and to enjoy views, but on the other hand, you will have to get transportation to/from the city (we've read the hotel provides a shuttle) as the road is difficult and a little bit steep. We really liked the hotel, it had a nice decoration, the staff was kind and helpful, the room was spacious, comfortable and clean, the restaurant was good with a fairly complete dinner and breakfast buffet (pick the tables by the window to best appreciate the views). The pool also a great addition to the hotel, We arrived when it was already dark and went straight to the pool. And let me tell you, that after a long, hot and humid day, that pool was the best thing we could have asked for!”

We had some problems with another hotel booking cancelation and Kalumn(manager or mb owner) spend about 40 min of his time helping us. Without him we couldn't deal with it. The room is clean and tidy. There are flip-flops in the room as you should take off ur shoes before going inside the hotel. Breakfast is tasty and nourishing. You can choose local or western menu. Parties!we met a lt of great people there!:)Lena, hostel's manager, was very helpful, she kindly provided all the information plus gave us great hints on how to improve our travel planning. Hostel also helps to arrange tuk tuk driver for very reasonable price and with no doubt hostel's tuktuk driver Prasanne is one of the most hospital and helpfull people we met on Srilanka so far. The home is purpose built in the style of a planter's bungalow with very comfortable and well furnished ensuite rooms. The food was particularly good - both European and Sri Lankan. They had even managed to find vegetarian sausages for my daughter, and Sally and Gerry couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. There was a pool which looked very inviting and we only wished that we had booked a longer stay. All in all we would give this property 11 out of 10 (!) and look forward to returning one day.”

The house has a beautiful and big garden. It reminded us of the colonial era, as it is really nice decorated and has an inner court yard or patio. The owners are a well-educated and extremely friendly Sri Lankan couple. We had really nice conversations with them and learned a lot about Sri Lankan culture. Rooms are very comfortable, big and clean. We had one of our best Sri Lankan dishes in this nice place. Freshly prepared and authentic food. Overall this was a very nice experience at a extremely fair price. Everybody who wants to experience the hospitality of a real nice Sri Lankan family should definitely go there. We stayed two nights and did all the temples, the botanical garden and the lake from there. The owners support you in everything you need: laundry, transport, information, etc. A big thank you again!!!”

“I loved the homestay ! I spent 5 nights at Misty Hills, with a lovely Sri Lankan family, and could leave my big bag while being on a short trip. Very enjoyable room all surrounded by luxuriant vegetation, clean, and with amazing views on hills around Kandy and Peradeniya. Close to a main road (supermarket, buses), but high up in the hills enough to be peaceful. The family was very caring about me, and provided gorgeous breakfasts, according to my tastes. Exactly what I needed after a long trip away from home. Thank you so much again, Shanka, Sanath, and Mitma, for welcoming me as a family member during my stay ! :-D”
