The staff was really friendly, even when we managed to lock our passports in the safe! The rooms were clean and came with everything needed (hairdryer, spare heater, and even two cups and some bags of tea with sugar and milk!). We had a room with a window, which I would highly recommend since the rooms can seem small. But they're perfect for two people. Our room happened to be very quiet too. We did not take the breakfast because we are two students on a budget. But there's a Sainsbury just across the street, and Grassmarket is 10 minutes away if you want a delicious english breakfast.”

First of all, I have problems sleeping even in my own bed, but this one was unbelievably comfortable, I was tempted to somehow take it with me. The location could not be better, I prefer walking than public transport, I could reach most of the city attractions in 10-30 minutes. The staff was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the city. The room was a little bit small but well equipped and spotless. You get a basket filled with tea and coffee, plus snacks free of charge and it's refilled every day. I have been to a lot of hotels but I never got anything for free, a very nice and novel idea. Breakfast was fresh, tasty and had enough choices to suit everybody. I definitely recommend this hotel.”

I explained I had come to celbrate my 50th birthday and not only were the drinks offered, they also upgraded our room as a birthday present, which was a lovely surprise . Bed was huge and comfy, quiet eventhough the hotel is in the centre of the old town, which is a fantastic position to be in as can walk to everywhere. a lovely view of the castel and of the old town. room had everthing, tea, coffee, water, biscuits, iron, hairdryer, dressing gowns, shoe shine, would definately stay there agin on our next trip to Edinburgh.”

“We spent 2 nights at this B&B just a short walk from great pubs and restaurants and the sites of Edinburgh. The hosts, Norrie and Sharon, are extremely friendly and welcoming with the welcome including a dram of whisky. As soon as we arrived we were told of the layout of Edinburgh and some dinner recommendations. We had a nice room downstairs with a large window looking out over the garden. Good wifi and shower. They have several choices for breakfast including a full Scottish breakfast with haggis that is very good. The next time we stay I may have to try the porridge for breakfast because I saw Norrie offer to add a splash of whisky to one guest's porridge. I hope we can visit Edinburgh again soon and we will definitely try and stay at the Ramsay's B&B again.”

Paul didn't hesitate to find out if I had everything else I needed, hair straightener etc.. We were both shattered so we took it easy and rested that evening. There's a lovely "honesty" bar downstairs if you fancied a few drinks or just a night cap which is stocked with a great selection of beverages. Each morning there was something new and exciting on the menu! The quality of the food was excellent with many locally produced products on offer. We couldn't fault the service and found the hosts willing and generous. Paul also recommended and booked us a table at The Outsider Restaurant for a busy Saturday night, we got a lovely table with views overlooking Edinburgh Castle. My husband and I had a great time at 94DR, we highly recommend it to our family and friends travelling to Edinburgh. It had such a personal touch and we loved Molli the Labradoodle! This place really is better than a Hotel! Thank you for a wonderful stay :) Niamh & Eric”
