I know lots of people complain their rooms were dirty, but mine was pretty good. someone comes everyday to clean, so if you are not a crazy messy person, it wont be that dirty throughout staying. you wont find the room with a bathroom in this price anywhere near SF downtown, but here.”

“The location was great for us, very central for everything we wanted to see. We like to walk a lot, eat with the locals and use public transit so the neighbourhood was great, away from but close enough to the touristy areas of Market St. and Fisherman's Wharf. I would not suggest this for people who don't like walking or using transit. The beds were very comfortable and clean; we got two nice big rooms. The staff were very accommodating despite some challenges when we arrived. Simple but decent wine with some cheese (chedder and swiss) cubes offered at 6pm and basic continental bkfst in the morning included.”

“I once stayed in a hostel in Jerusalem. Single room,WiFi, ensuite etc but I had run out of soap. I went reception and asked whether they had any soap. ( meaning could I buy soap at reception.) The owner replied. The Marriot is just up the road. They charge $700.00 per night. They have soap. This hotel was clean,central, pleasant helpful staff. Breakfast was toast (3 types of bread ) fruit, cereal, coffee, juice ,waffles etc Not happy ? There are many much more expensive hotel nearby with new furniture , larger rooms and freshly cleaned carpets. Your choice.”

Staff was really friendly, they'd let me put my rented bike indoors.”

The rooms are a bit small but it didn't disturb me at all. Being from Europe we are used to smaller rooms. For me it is important that the room has everything you need, a big bed, big TV, nice big bathroom, ironing board, cafè machine, frige etc. All that I found in the room in perfect shape. You can see that the room has been furnished and equipped by somebody who loves its job and the ownership pays a lot of attention to keeping it perfect. “We loved everything from the decor to the staff helpfulness. I became sick and they arranged a doctor, even offered to send someone with us. When it was time to leave, the hotel was frantic with security as someone very important was arriving. They were happy to arrange a "Black Car" to the airport at a much more affordable rate than the first one offered. The Trace Restaurant was a little pricey but the food more than compensated for the price. They stored our luggage after our late checkout and took the time with us to plan our last day in SF as we didn't fly out until very late.”
